mCommerce Example: Ticketmaster iPhone Mobile Marketing

Who hasn’t bought a ticket from Ticketmaster yet? The ticket buying experience is about to get a lot easier with the launch of their mobile commerce (mCommerce) iphone app. The mCommerce enabled app for the iPhone and iPod touch allows fans to purchase tickets to a wide variety of events via “in-app” mobile commerce functionality. (see our post on “in-app” mCommerce).

“Live Nation” merged with Ticketmaster recently to form “Live Nation Entertainment” and obviously have unlimited resources for their development efforts. As such, the iPhone app provides a tremendous amount of interaction and information, including concert listings, alerts on last-minute ticket offers, ticket purchasing data, concert photos, concert updates, and songs. As the world’s third-largest ecommerce company, Ticketmaster realizes that everything’s going to the smart device – and they need to engage their audience via mobile before their competition, a very wise move.

So let’s get this straight: the 3rd largest eCommerce company in the world realizes that’s not enough and to continue their track record of amazing success, they need to make the move to mCommerce. Are they wrong, or are you just not paying attention? Take your business mobile now with the help of an iPhone application development company! It doesn’t have to be as functionally intensive as the Ticketmaster app (after all, you probably don’t have their deep pockets), but having an app made for your business will not break the bank either – and it’ll provide your company with another revenue producing resource.  How many more success stories do you have to read about?
